A NOTE FROM DCO BETTY

My goodness, how the summer is flying by!   Our congregation sponsored a wonderful event filled Ice Cream Social; a special Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make it happen.     I have to admit riding on the float being pulled by two beautiful Belgium work horses was a real treat.  A special thanks to Carol Barnes for recruiting Mike and Jimmy and their beautiful horses, Duke and Pete.

On a Sunday morning, we had the opportunity to hear about God working in the world, especially in New York City.  Dr. Bill Merry shared the work he is doing with people form China and Thailand.  Dr. Merry asks for your prayers of continued guidance and strength in the work he is doing. 

On September 10th, Pastor and I will be spending the day at Houghton College.  They have invited us to have Brunch with President Shirley A. Mullen, and then participate in a College Fair.  The event is designed to help the students at the College become familiar with area churches and what type of ministry they are doing.  It is our hope that some of them will get involved with some of our activities here at Trinity.

On September 25, a small group will be going to see Mark Lowry in concert in Bath.  The show sold out within a few days.  I was able to purchase 10 tickets.  I have one left.  Let me know if you would like it.  The cost is $5.00

Also in September our church along with Thrivent will be sponsoring two benefits.  On Thursday, Sept. 20th there will be Music in our Pavilion.  The Band of Brothers, Carol Mead, and Carole Aldrich will be performing.  There will hot dogs, soda, and other goodies.  The event will start at 5:30 p.m.   Bring a chair and a friend!  The money raised will go towards building a playground here at the church. 

On Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon till 4 p.m., Thrivent will be sponsoring a Chicken BBQ to benefit Cheryl Young who is battling cancer.  There will also be a Chinese Auction.  Get your tickets now! 

Vacation Bible School was a great success!  Thanks to everyone who helped or donated.  There were about 45 children who participated.  Several of the children sang in church the following Sunday.  What a wonderful blessing to be able to share the Gospel with these children and their families.

There are a lot of good things happening here at Trinity.  God has blessed us beyond measure.
