Trinity
Christian Daycare is thriving with a steady enrollment. Infants, 6 weeks to 18
months, are at full capacity of eight. Toddlers, 18 months to 3 years, are now eleven with
one opening. The three and four year olds number 10, and do have several available spots.
School age varies between 13 and 20. for these children the Wellsville school bus picks
them up at the church and returns them in the afternoon.
The staff is doing a wonderful job. The children are busy inside and outside with
well-planned curriculum activities. Director Lisa Burdick reports that the New York State
Daycare Licensor completed the quarterly inspection on November 19 with the facility and
staff passing with flying colors.
Congratulations go to Toddler Teacher Susan Cradduck for completing an intensive study
entitling her to the "Child Development Associate Certificate". This involved
100 hours of coursework, observations of her teaching, and a final exam. Susan is married
and has a daughter attending TCD. She had formerly done at-home daycare before coming to
us.
The TCD staff
is attempting to associate more with the congregation and the community. They will be
hosting the Advent meal on December 19. The staff and TCD board met over supper, catered
by Kato Aldrich, on November 14. A Christmas tree at the David A. Howe Library will be
decorated by TCD promoting our program to the local area.
DCO Betty Wood, Lisa Burdick, and Board Chair Carol English recently visited a Lutheran
daycare in Penfield, NY. Faith Lutheran has had such a program for twenty years and is now
servicing over a hundred children. Many proven ideas were brought back that hopefully will
be worked into our program.
