Thrivent Happenings

daycare-thrivent-sm.jpg (8831 bytes)On Sunday, November 11, Thrivent presented two checks as a result of two different fund raisers. Cheryl Young, who is battling cancer, received a check for $3,277.85 and our Trinity Christian Daycare received a check for $800.00 toward the purchase of new playground equipment. Shown in the picture are Connie Woodworth, toddler teacher, Pastor Morris, Sue Cradduck, toddler teacher, Janet Carlin, Thrivent Coordinator, Marge Vossler, Thrivent Coordinator, Angela Chandler, Assistant Daycare Director, Lisa Burdick, Daycare Director, and Betty Wood, Thrivent Coordinator.

peggystanford-thrivent-sm.jpg (9315 bytes)Thrivent also raised funds with donations from our congregation and community for Peggy Leave Stanford, to help cover expenses incurred as a result of a long recovery time from back surgery. Peggy received a check for $2,600.00. Shown in the picture are Janet Carlin, Peggy Stanford, Betty Wood and Marge Vossler.

A very special Thank You to everyone who prayed, worked, and financially supported these projects. God Bless!!

 

Donations Needed

Donations needed for approximately eight turkeys (20-22 lb.) for the Christmas Day Dinner for the needy. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Any questions, please contact Kato Aldrich (593-5021). Help needed on Monday, December 24 at 2 pm to cut bread and make food preparations. Help also needed on Tuesday, December 25 at 8 am till ?.

Thrivent

It is election time again. All benefit members, age 16 and over should have received a ballot in the mail. This election is for the NATIONAL Board of Directors. These ballots must be returned to Appleton, Wisconsin and postmarked by Nov. 30.

On Sunday, November 11, the local chapter elections will be held following church service during coffee hour. All members, benefit and associate member age 16 and over should take advantage of this opportunity. Thrivent will supply the refreshments that Sunday.

If you can not attend church that weekend, please contact any of your congregational coordinators for a chance to vote.

Dorcas

Dorcas welcomed Janet Vargo from her trip to Ireland! So glad she arrived safely.

Ladies tied one large quilt given by Shirley Neu-A quilt for all seasons! - Very colorful with hearts, pumpkins, Christmas decorations and birds!

The Nov. 26th meeting we will celebrate Jean Rushmore's birthday.

Dorcas Christmas Luncheon is December 10th-We work, then eat! Please bring a tureen.

We won't meet again until Monday, January 14th, 2008 at 9:30am.

Ladies Aid

quilt.gif (7979 bytes)Nine ladies met for the November 13th meeting. Arlene Leave led devotions with reflections on family Thanksgivings.

A thank you letter was received from Open Door Mission for our donation. Arrangements for Anna Vossler's funeral luncheon were discussed.

Thanks for all who helped with the Sauerkaut Supper, a special thanks to Shelly Dunne for an extraordinary job done. Thanks to the ladies who helped sell the knives that day as well.

Treasurer's report was given by Eleanor.

The December 4th Christmas meeting is at 7 pm. Each lady is asked to bring 2 dozen cookies, and a toy for "Toys for Tots". Hat's & mittens will also be collected.

Discussion then moved to possibly having a Chinese Auction to occur on a Saturday sometime around the Chinese New Year in February. Also discussed was a possible April breakfast, dinner or fundraiser. More details will be forthcoming on these two events.

Don't forget the ladies will meet on Friday, January 4th, February 1st and March 7th at 1 pm in the afternoon for these winter months. Sally Dannheim will notify those slated for devotions & snacks for these months.
