Congregational Meeting
Abbreviated Minutes
December 17, 2007

Meeting called to order at 7:00 and opened with a prayer from Betty Wood.

Members in attendance were Fran Lanphier, Jon Ebeling, Kato Aldrich, Betty Wood, Linda Gridley, Carol English, Marge Vossler, Pastor Morris, Church White, Dick Kling, Pete Carlin, Larry Vossler and Cathy Farwell.

We went right into the Elders report because they wanted to discuss the idea of making a sizeable donation to Sheba’s Mission to go towards the Mission being able to purchase 10 acres of land. It was a lengthy discussion and a full report can be found in the church office. We then went over our Stewardship annual report and decided about disbursements for this year. After that we then received Marge Vossler’s resignation after many years as our treasurer and voted to accept it with deep regret. All other reports including minutes of the previous meeting were read and gone over with copies on file with the complete minutes in the church office. Meeting was closed at 8:07 pm.

Ladies Aid

The first of our three monthly Friday afternoon meetings was nicely attended. Since Epiphany began this week, Marge Vossler read passages from the Bible and her devotional pertaining to that subject. Many issues were discussed. Our Chinese auction and spring dinner is being put on hold due to the early Easter season. Shelly Dunne has graciously offered to present a basket for the Daycare Chinese Auction and dinner they are having on February 12th. We voted and approved the giving of $1,000 to the India Mission Project for the orphanage. June read some humorous stories from a book she received as a gift, which was rather entertaining. After closing with the Lords Prayer, June and Sally served as hostesses for our afternoon snack.

Dorcas

Dorcas held their annual Christmas Luncheon December 17th after sorting material and straightening the shelves. The following quilts were given:

6 quilts to the Salvation Army,
1 quilt to an individual,
2 quilts to WIC,
2 quilts to the Open Door Missions in Rochester, NY,
12 quilts to Accord.

Our thanks to Doris Heysham for the large quantity of material she has given! We appreciate all gifts, without all our friends we couldn’t help so many. If you know of someone who needs a lap robe or quilt, please let us know. If you would be willing to help Dorcas at home sewing blocks together - please give Betty Havens a call (593-2153).
Next meeting will be Jan. 24th. February meetings are Feb. 11th and 25th at 9:30 am - all help is welcome.
We will be giving a quilt for the Daycare dinner in
February.
