A Note From Your DCOI hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and that you will always
remember the love that God has for us. We continue to work towards purchasing the 4 acres
of land for the children in India. As I write this article on Dec. 19th, we need
$21,556.00 to finish paying for the land. Please keep Sheba and the children in your
prayers.
Now as we begin a new year, may we look to the future with
confidence in knowing that God is in control, and we are His people. Happy New Year!!

LADIES AID
It was an enjoyable evening for our Christmas party on a
cold Tuesday evening. We signed 24 cards for shut-ins before Eleanor & President June
entertained us with delightful readings topped off with a quiz about Christmas Carols.
June reminded us about the congregational dinner on
Tuesday, December 16. Also, we go back to winter hours for January 2, February 6 and March
6 (the 1st Friday of each month) at 1:00PM.
Before we made up 20 plates of cookies for shut-ins and
special folks, we admired the nice array of toys, hats, gloves & scarves we collected
for the Salvation Army. Shelly Dunne will deliver the items to the Salvation Army office
this week.
After the plates were packaged up we were ready to dig in
and enjoy our fill of delicious cookies.
Respectfully,
Sally Dannheim, Secy.
Daycare Staff and Children Host Parents for
Christmas
Parents and children enjoyed their Christmas program and
party on Thursday, December 18th. All the children had one or both parents present. It was
quite the crowd filling the sanctuary for music and the reading of the Christmas story.
A Christmas parade began the program with all the children
marching down the center aisle with their rhythm instruments accompanied by O Come
All Ye Faithful. The toddlers, wearing yellow star headbands, somewhat sang and did
motions for Twinkle. Preschoolers, looking like Rudolph in their red noses,
sang three songs. A reading of the traditional Christmas story, told form the viewpoint of
the donkey, was done by Carol English.
All adjourned to the Fellowship Hall for punch and
cookies, and a surprise visit from Santa Claus. Kato Aldrich deserves a big thank you for
his secret connection with Santa.
To view some nice pics of the event visit our daycare photo
album.
